I like your idea. It's pretty engaging. Some tips from my onboarding:
Hope this helps you with making your game better. Good luck with the project! :)
Hi, thank you excellent feedback! I will take these in the works asap.
Here are initial thoughts:
1. That is true. Maybe I add panel to the playarea, which makes background darker - similar which is in "potion unlock" game.
2. Yes, the popup is placeholder. It will be replaced or complemented with pointing hand or maybe magic wand.
3. Good point! I will try approach that "used" colors will be visible grey on recipe book to avoid confusion.
4. The tutorial part does not emphasize enough that when cauldron is pressed (and not released) there is star moving around the potion flask. Star changes color and when mouse button is released that color is placed on some of the bottles.
5. Yes, I have thought the same - that what actions should be counted as player moves. I will think this again :)
Ad.3. People like checklists. I'd suggest some checkmarks :)
Ad.5. You could eventually introduce it in a challenge mode or sth
Updated version is now online. Fix to critical issues in 1. - 4. Hopefully onboarding is not so confusing any more :)
